The single best thing you can do before anyone visits your site is send photos with your enquiry. Two photos are most useful:
- A photo of the wall face, showing the full height and length of the wall, any visible lean or damage, and the condition of the panels or materials
- A photo showing the slope grade, step back from the wall and photograph the slope behind or above it, showing how much ground is being retained and the general steepness of the block
With these two photos, we can often give you a preliminary cost range and identify any potential complications, like whether rock-breaking is likely, whether the slope grade will require engineering, or whether there are drainage concerns worth discussing before any site visit.

- If you proceed, your contract is with that contractor, and they schedule the job, confirm approval requirements, and order materials

Do you provide free quotes? Yes. Site visits and written quotes are free with no obligation, and they come from the contractor rather than from us. For remote properties or sites with extremely restricted access, we may ask for photos and measurements before a site visit is booked.
How quickly can work start? Lead times for new projects vary by season. Blue Mountains work is busiest in late summer and autumn, when the consequences of winter rain damage become apparent, and contractor availability tightens accordingly. If a wall has partially collapsed or looks close to failing, treat it as a safety issue first: keep people, pets and vehicles away from the area below and behind it, and say clearly in your enquiry that the wall has moved, since that detail matters more than anything else you write.
Do I need to sort out council approval first? No. We can advise on likely approval requirements during the quoting process.
